Next Version Type Alpha Or Beta?

Me and Brent have been discussing this for a wile
Brent feels that the Next release should be called "Beta Version 1.0
And I think it should be called "Alpha Version 1.0"

So we are going to post are reasons for the version types here and let you decide which we go for

The next release will contain

-Full Episode 1 + 1 Extra level of Doom 2
-All Specular Texture Maps Improved
-New loading screens with custom guis
-Functional Music Volume Control
-Loading And Saving Including Restart Fixed (Weapons Need To Be Removed From Player After Restart Still)
-No Fall Damage
-Function In Menu To Remove Wind Shake Effects (Currently Acts Like A Earthquake In A lot of Areas In It's Early Stage)
-GameX86.dll all custom functions were completely re-written by Brent.
-DoomReborn.exe is now the games executable, as it contains fixes and code tweaks, setting game parameters no longer required. Plus combined with the new GameX86.dll this should prevent most if not all errors related to GameX86.dll Wrong Version Error etc (Example Not Having Doom 3 Version 1.3.1 Installed)

Work Still To Do
-Episodes 2-3-4 of Doom 1
-29 Levels Of Doom 2 If we include Level 33 Betray From The Xbox Version (which we will :) )
-Difficulty for all levels
-Weapons need remade and reanimated etc
-Monsters need remade and reanimated etc (We have the skins done by Apz-Freak but They use assists from
Doom 3 still)
-Remaining Item\World Object Models
-Multiplayer Co Op and Deathmatch
-Other Scripting Related Tasks Needed For Complete Standalone Build

The way im looking to go by naming the versions our
Alpha Version 1.0 for Complete Episode One
Alpha Version 2.0 for Complete Episode Two
Alpha Version 3.0 For Complete Episode Three and so on

During each release We'll be trying to have 1-2 levels done to both Doom 1 and Doom 2 at the same time, so by the time we are reaching Alpha Version 4.0 we will have completed all Doom 2 levels at the same time.

New levels obviously wont be the only changes during each release, But we do need some help.

We are looking for a
3D modeller\Animator
Musician
Texture Artist
Coders

But until then me and Brent will be doing are own thing :)

I think it should be Alpha 1.0 as Beta would imply that it is finished majoritively and just needs to be polished off and tweaked, where it is is more accurately protrayed by Alpha as there is still a lot of ground work and mapping needs done, nevermind getting all the tweaks done...
To be quite honest though, version number makes little difference as long as the quality of work is there ^^

I would agree, as long as there are still maps needing to be made, it can't be considered beta...
